Then they removed the limbo stick and the rum drinking "Jamaicans" with their really bad accents, Mon, and brought Adam and his lawn chair out and slapped them on the sand.

Speaking of really bad accents, Billy Miller was vacillating between his really bad fake Jamaican accent and his really bad fake Irish accent when he was reading the note with the video from his Jamaican friends, Mon.

He's up for a Daytime Emmy and I hope he wins. He certainly deserves it. I have NO IDEA why Peter Bergman was nominated. He's done nothing but wince and stare off into the distance for most of this year. The same way he does most years.

What in the world are the writers doing with Chloe's character?

At first she was this clingy, lying femme fatale who went after Billy and married Cane, knowing she was carrying Billy's baby. Then suddenly after the baby was born, she seemed to mature and become more of an adult, much in part, I believe because of her new relationship with Chance.

He asked her to marry him and she was mature enough to say she wasn't ready.

Now all of a sudden, she's showing up everywhere with food for Chance, whining about how they never get to spend any time together and she's getting all clingy again. What about HER job? Who's running Restless Style these days now that Billy is in Jamaica and Jill has been fired and Chloe has a new job working as Chance's waitress? What about Chloe's life? Why is she suddenly so insecure again? All of a sudden she doesn't get that people have jobs and responsibilities and can't be partying all the time so she calls that idiot ex of hers?!

The writers are once again ruining a good character.

I love how Nick (and Nicki) seem totally clueless to Phyllis' plight. He doesn't care in the least that dear old Dad caused his daughter's physical problems. Both Nick and Nicki totally glossed over that fact and are making it seem like it's all Phyllis' problem.

I do love how Victor demoted his ass, though, and Nick totally deserved it. He is forever kissing Daddy's ass going to work for him, then Victor treats him like shit in his usual manner, and Nick gets all self-righteous and quits. Daddy snaps his fingers and guess who blows off his wife once again to please Daddy?

Nick deserves all the crap that gets thrown at him. He needs to man up and put his FAMILY first for once, instead of continually selling them out the way he is now.

Y&R Shocker: Stephen Nichols Replaces William Russ

Actor William Russ, who hit The Young and the Restless December 2 as the Donald Trump-esque jillionaire Tucker McCall, has been ousted from the role and replaced by Days of Our Lives great Stephen Nichols (Patch). Nichols was due to begin taping December 17 and will appear on air January 27. The Y&R execs have kept their statements brief. Co-exec producer/head writer Maria Arena Bell says: “William Russ is a talented actor and we enjoyed working with him. However, we decided to take the character in another direction.” Adds co-exec producer Paul Rauch: “[Russ] did a wonderful job while he was here.”

Why the switch? Here’s my thought: Russ, known for his recurring roles on Boston Legal and The Ex List, has been giving a performance that seems strong enough, but it may be that the soap needed more superstar luster because Tucker will eventually be revealed to have a shocking (and we do mean shocking!) connection to a major (and we do mean major!) denizen of Genoa City. I think one of the WORST things Y&R is doing right now concerns the character of Billy.

Michael Baldwin USED to have a law practice.

Now he basically spends his time representing family and the Newmans. And he must get one hell of a whopping retainer from the Newmans because no matter what Victor needs done, be it legal work or picking up the dry cleaning, he seems to call Michael to take care of it.

Interesting to see the writers turning Ashley into a watchable character after all the crap she's been dealt lately. It will be fun to see her and Junior get into business only to find out that Junior is her worst enemy.

I'm hating this Amber/Daniel stuff. She's a grown ass woman and yet she talks like a freaking BABY. When are they going to age this character already?! She's not a whiney teen anymore and yet she still speaks like one.

I think the biggest problem I'm having with this cancer storyline is that Lily is the picture of health.

No matter what she's going through, her makeup is perfect. She didn't even break a sweat with her high fever, and other than the scarves, you'd never know there was anything wrong with her. Heck, they don't even smudge the makeup under her eye to make her look drawn.

On another matter, I LOVE Eileen Davidson's short new do. Very cute!

Phyllis' little goodbye speech was funny. I liked when she said she was leaving because she couldn't be the mother to Summer that she wanted to be and work at the magazine. So she'll quit and start working at Newman. Makes a lot of sense. Isn't it great to know that a HUGELY POPULAR magazine can be put out by about four or five employees?

Gotta love Victor's arrogance and curse Patti's lousy aim. I can't believe that half wit had the arrogance to blame the doctor for Patti's behavior. Someone please explain the term "personal responsibility" to the man.

I'd love to know why no charges have been filed against Victor Newman. He admitted in front of Jack that he was responsible for the surgery and bringing her to GC. Surely there's SOMETHING he can be charged with?!

Victor was surprised Ashley wanted the ranch? Surely he recalls his other divorce proceedings. And why was Nicki shocked to hear that Ashley wanted the ranch? Didn't she herself get it in one of the aforementioned divorce proceedings? How could Victor own it when she lived there with Jack and the gyne husband? Wow, that's what you call "good will" if it's true.

If Steve and Traci live in NY, why would they bury Colleen in GC? And wouldn't it be more likely she'd be cremated so they could at least take her ashes home with them?

Chloe needs to stop arguing with Billy, grow a pair and sign the divorce papers. Chance is a decent guy with a good job and Billy is pretty much an alcoholic, unemployed, irresponsible hot head, who, into his 30's doesn't even have control of his own trust fund. Yeah, real difficult decision when you have a small child.

Y&R NEEDS NEW WRITERS AND A NEW DIRECTION!!!!

The soap forums are all a twitter about how everyone is hating the direction Y&R is taking.

These storylines are so ridiculous and unbelievable. The baby swap, for instance. We're expected to swallow the fact that two women who weren't even pregnant at the same time, go into labor at the same time, at the same mental hospital and both are having girls. Puhleeze.

And the Victor storyline is equally ridiculous. The IDIOT WRITERS want us to believe that Colleen's heart would be a good match for Victor. First of all, it's female to male donation, which more often than not ends in organ rejection. Secondly, his body is twice the weight of hers, another determining factor when it comes to organ donation. NO WAY would her heart be a good match for him.

Sad thing is the writers don't even bother themselves with things like FACTS.

The latest Eric Braeden news is making the internet rounds. How he might quit the show, how he's been written out, how he gave this moving speech to the cast telling them he might never be back and he cried.

What a fucking joke.

I find it ironic that the one time he utilizes his acting skills in several years is when he's using it to play hardball with the show execs to prove his financial worthiness.

The article clearly states at the end that he is "in talks with the show". Would he be in talks if he had no intention of returning?

There's no freaking way he's going to lose ALL of his income when he admits that he's willing to take the pay cut at the end of his contract. It has been reported--and I don't know how true it is--that he makes a million dollars a year. Lord knows his "acting" sure as hell isn't worth a cool mill. IF you call walking around with your hands in your pockets while you mumble your lines "acting".

But how clever of him to take it one step further than the others who have been "written out of the show" only to return weeks later after their contracts have been settled, by giving a "good-bye" speech. OY. What a drama queen.

Getting the impression I don't like him? I don't and here's why: Victor Newman has to win every damn time there's a confrontation between him and Jack Abbott. How boring and predictable. It's the same story line used over and over and over.

More importantly, in my opinion, Braeden has been phoning in his "acting" for several years now. Even when he's breaking down doors or muttering about his love for Nicki, he's got his damn hands in his damn pockets as if he just doesn't give a damn. His whole expression screams, "Give me my paycheck and get me out of here."

Frankly, I wish they would.

When Abby leaned over a critically injured Victor and said, "I love you, Daddy," I have expected her to add, "and I love all the stuff you buy me, especially my million dollar horse! ByyyyyE!" Why is Abby's acting ability suddenly D.O.A.? When she first came on the show, she was really good. When she told Jack off the other day, she was really bad. Seriously. Bad. Everything was ranted in a rather monotone, whiny voice, instead of with emotion.

I thought the female doctor on today's (Monday) show was excellent, although I can't believe they didn't bring Olivia back for that scene. I was beginning to think she was the only doctor on staff.

Interesting how neither Nick nor Victoria shed any tears today. Paul's scenes, on the other hand, were much better than they had been. None of that weird ass finger pointing and no melt down scenes in which he ended up looking like Munch's model for The Scream.

Y&R has totally ruined this Colleen/Victor storyline.

As if the gag hanging out of Colleen's mouth wasn't bad enough--I mean, come on, the girl had to bite down on her own gag to keep it from falling out of her mouth. They had her drown like her father in the same damn lake. Are the writers unable to come up with any (close to) death scenario OTHER than drowning or almost drowing on this show?

They didn't bother to show HOW she ended up in the water or HOW Jack got her out of the water, and to add insult to injury, today they didn't let us hear what was said when Chance told Traci and Steve about Colleen.

BULLSHIT! I hated that stupid technique when they used it on GL this week when they were telling family that Alan was dead, and now Y&R is doing it.

It may sound ghoulish, but those scenes are some of soaps best, so KNOCK IT OFF LAZY Y&R WRITERS!!!

I can't even believe JT said Jack "kept up CPR until the ambulance got there." Really? We must be watching two different shows because after a few seconds of lame ass CPR, Jack stopped to argue with Patti. While she was stopping him from getting help, she certainly didn't stop him from performing CPR. He did that on his own.

Jack was such a HUGE PUSSY during those scenes with Patti on Friday. There's his so-called 'beloved' niece dying in front of him and he spends almost an hour arguing with a psycho. I think I gained five pounds watching all the syrupy, sugary sweetness of the last week. Granted, Alan dying was a good twist, but all the engagements, babies and weddings were a TAD over the top. And when I say "a tad," I mean it was crazy insane. It was nice to see a lot of the old actors and actresses from the show, though.

I was thrilled Josh and Reva reunited, but what was the point of allowing Jeffrey to live? He never came back. He chose Edmund over his own family. What stupidity. I kept expecting him to walk up and surprise the hell out of Reva. Never did. They should have killed him off and let the whole Edmund thing go when they knew the show was going to end.
