where there's a will, there are inheritors

Why would Abby be given the same share as Victor's grandkids? She should get more because she's his daughter. And why isn't Brad there representing his daughter's interests?

and Paul wasted all that $ on a hotline

Gotta love Nikki's style of investigation: walking up and down the beach screaming Victor's name. And it worked!

Wonder if she could find Bin Laden for us the same way?

"would you like to leave a message?"

What kind of personal secretaries/receptionists do the companies on the show employ? Every time I see Restless Style, Sharon or Jack or Phyllis or Nick are answering the phones and dodging questions from reporters. Jill's calls from reporters come straight to the mansion phone and Katherine and Victor have even gotten calls from reporters on their private cell phones.

Shouldn't they have people taking care of this sort of stuff for them?

WHOA! never saw this one coming

OMG!!! What a great spoiler….Chloe is really Kate, Esther’s daughter! Nikki finds Victor on the beach tomorrow. Of course he survived, he’s The Great Victor Newman. A mere devastating storm at sea is no match for him!

I love the way Jack tries to justify his dirty dealings by putting a good spin on it, like his reasoning as to why they should to the Victor story. I can’t believe Sharon actually caught on to his motives for once. Too bad she’s not smart enough to leave him. She continues to be caught in the middle because of Jack’s behavior, yet she continues to enable it. She doesn’t make Jack answer for any of his actions. Instead of telling him she expects him to act honorably, she told him she had no expectations, thus giving him free reign to be the lying jerk he’s always been.

Ooooo, Brad in charge of Newman, and Heather aka “that woman” is living at the ranch. And poor Vic’s been “dead” only one or two days. I’m loving it. Heather and Adam are going to give Vic’s belongings to GOOD WILL?! LOL! Hysterical. Victor’s probably rolling over in his nonexistent grave. I will admit, some of the storylines are much juicer since the new writer took over.

Paul to Victoria: “Don’t worry. You know I’m not going to let anything happen to your mother.” After he left her in Mexico alone? Yeah, I’d trust him with my mom’s welfare.

As for Chloe aka Kate, all this time and Esther didn’t know her daughter changed her name? Or that she worked in fashion? And Chloe didn’t even try to see Esther since she’s been in town?

a correction

I checked on Kevin S's age--NuNoah---again, and he's not 28 as I originally stated. The website was incorrect. He's only 20.

Weird thing is, there's only 8 years between Daniel and Sharon, which really surprised me, and only 11 years between Michelle and Michael, so again, they screwed up with the casting there. I had no idea that Michael G was that close in age to her. Wikipedia lists him as 14 years younger than Michelle, but it lists his birth year as 1979 and hers as 1968, which would only be 11 years.

But in all fairness, if Michael G shaved his facial hair, he could really pass for a 16 yr old.

today's rant

When kajillionaire Steve Fossett was missing in September 2007, he was not declared legally dead until February 2008 after months and months of searching. One must admire how quickly the Mexican government works. Victor is missing one day, and he's declared dead, his death cert is issued and Adam is acting like a power hungry dictator at Newman. I’m loving that part, though. Can’t wait to see the smart ass fall on his face.

Lily is sorry she didn’t go to modeling school?! She stepped out of total obscurity into a contract with a major cosmetic company, and she’s sorry she didn’t go to modeling school?! Gawd she IS stupid.

Anna to Devon: “You have the whole music thing going on for you and you didn’t have to go to school.” WHAT “music thing”? Sitting around with a kid writing music? I’m just glad they’re getting rid of her, and from the forums I’ve read, I won’t be the only one happy to see her backside hitting the streets.

I love the way the bartender told Nick and Nicki about the body, instead of the police hunting them down. Classy. Wonder if the bartender is also responsible for filling out the death certificate and burying the body?

FINALLY!

Now that Victor is "dead," maybe NOW Eric Braeden is on vacation.**keeping my fingers crossed and doing the happy dance** Sad thing is I know it's just a matter of time before Victor rises from the dead. Once again. Just once, I'd like to Victor Newman to die and stay dead. I mean, how many times has this happened in the Newman family?

It will be interesting to see how much damage ego maniac Adam can do at Newman. First up, firing Neil. Adam is such an ass. I'm curious to see how well he's going to do running Newman with his Harvard Business degree and little else.

casting clusterfuck

Do the CBS soap casting directors need bifocals or what?

It's bad enough that only ten years separates Donna from her son Marcus, and that less than ten years separates Brooke from the woman who plays her mother, NOW Y&R folks hire a kid who is only ONE YEAR younger than Daniel to play Noah. Thank God he clarified for us today by saying, "I know I'm just a kid but...." PUHLEEZE.

Do they think we're too stupid to see these things?

anticipation is making me wait

I can't WAIT to see the expression on Jack's face when the latest issue of Restless Style comes out. LOL! Bravo, Phyllis, great job!

Speaking of Jack, I love the way he keeps everything from Sharon "to protect her." Yeah, it's called "lying," Jack.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

dear God, please let Devon convince this kid to leave....

I think they should nuture this kid's
"talent"....far, FAR away from GC.

And from the way Katherine is pushing,
I think SHE'S sick of that almost daily "singing," too.

private eyes are watching you they see your every move

wednesday's musings

Typical soap thinking: "There's a storm coming, so let's get out on the water and beat that weather."

Why would someone in Dubai be calling JT on his cellphone about Newman? And why would JT be included in business sessions?

Victoria just changed the name of the cosmetic line BACK to Beauty of Nature? Just like that? No worry about the cost of packaging changes or ad changes?

With all of the Nikki and Paul scenes lately, I wonder if they're going to hook the two of them up?

"No more lies." Let's see how many shows it takes for Michael to eat his own words?

one man's floor is another man's ceiling

Katherine: "How did such a little girl like you get such a great big beautiful voice?"

Ana: "Mom always says it's a gift from God."

No, it's a fucking annoyance.

*Keeping my fingers crossed they send her away to that school in New Hampshire*

Does anybody else think it's stupid that Devon is writing music with a little kid?

and the ass kissing continues...

JT: "Any news from the tip hotline?"

Nick: "Let's see, this guy here is pretty sure he saw Dad leaving Genoa City in a space ship, so that's a good tip."

JT: "Well, knowing Victor Newman, that's not impossible."

it figures

I'm beginning to see why Heather has never won a case in the D.A.'s office. Victoria told Jr. to get his crap out of the Newman ranch pronto with Heather standing right beside him. Did she inform him that you can't throw someone out without a 30 day written notice? Nope.

As much as I hate Adam, and I do, I think Victoria is being petty. Victor DID want Adam at the ranch, and he's not causing any problem being there.

the gospel according to daniel and colleen

Soap "sense": If you don't have enough in common to hold a conversation, have sex.

Interesting to hear Jill kvetch about Katherine looking over her shoulder, monitoring her every move at Jabot, when that's exactly what she was doing to Nikki.

Adam: "I can be fun, right?" Wrong. You're a boring stick in the mud.

family ties

Lowell is going to fit right in with the other Baldwins. Instead of taking personal responsibility for the things he's done, today he told Michael, "I apologize for what the Universe has thrown at us."

How about, "Sorry I've been a law breaking jerk. Not unlike you, Michael. And Kevin. And Gloria. And Jana."

bottoms up, Noah!

I know a lot of people were hoping the new more mature Noah would be gay ala General Hospital. Turns out he's got alcohol problems instead.

*Yawn*

Didn't we go through this with Daniel? And Katherine? And Nikki? And Jill? Surely they can come up with something better than this. Hell, this makes Daniel's porn addiction look downright interesting. And we know it sucked....pun intended;)

"Heather has a health crisis." Hmmm. Her character is looking more and more tacky lately, with a twist of gold digger thrown in.

Ooooo, "Jack does an expose of David Chow and Jill gets caught in the aftermath". I'm anxious to see her go down, too. She's been incredibly smug lately.

talk about perfect timing

"m" is for the million things she gave me

Mother of the Year....as long as raising a child
doesn't require any effort on her part
.
Speaking of effort, didn't Cane put a lot of it into his

today's show crap

If Lauren’s son was sick, why in the world did she leave him behind?

Geez, could the Baldwin’s have been any more trashier at the Ashram? Insisting on using a cell phone, flaunting leather products, complaining about taking off their shoes. Geez, they need some time at the Ashram to get over their addiction to material goods.

Funny how Colleen couldn’t be bothered to go to Jana’s shower, but she shows up at the wedding.

Although the whole “mystic” wedding ceremony was goofy, I loved Lauren’s dress today on the show. It was the perfect color for her.

Nice of Michael to tell Jana that he disliked her in the past right before her wedding ceremony. Way to set the tone of the day, Mikey.

I sooooo enjoyed Victoria telling Adam who was really running the show. He's such a self-serving jerk.

rippin' on today's show

I don’t like Judith Chapman’s new hair color. Waaaay to dark and what’s with the skunk stripes by her face? The idea is to look younger. Not more Vampira-like.

Katherine: “You’re going to appoint Cane CEO."
Jill: “As his grandmother, I would think you’d be thrilled.”
And yet, as her daughter, Jill never even bothered to tell Katherine she was giving Cane the job.

Ashley gave Traci her proxy for what reason? She flew in for a ten minute meeting in which there was no vote. And why was Brad trying to get her to agree to support his bid for CEO? Again, there was no vote so it made no sense.

I think Jill really wants Cane as CEO, not because he’s “the only one” she can trust, but because she wants to micromanage the business from every end. Since when does “loyalty” come before “experience” when a big company is looking for a CEO?

Gotta love the way Jana puts all her faith in her relationship with Kevin in a Ouija board. Don’t let her near the horoscope section of the paper, Kev!

A model holding a skull for an high fashion magazine? Huh? And why would you have a supposedly upscale magazine and then fill it with crappy articles like the gossip filled one on Sabrina and this business with Jill? The writers need to make up their minds about this magazine pronto: is it like Cosmo or the National Enquirer? Because ya can’t have both.

Love how Colleen blew off Jana’s bachelorette party for a date that she could have any night of the week. Sweet. Then she blew off her own mother who she hadn’t seen in how long. "Oh, if only you'd told me you were coming." Riiight.

Sadly, I was wrong about Eric Braeden going on vacation, but I was right about one thing: he’s doing all his “acting” with his hands in his pockets. That, combined with the baseball cap disguise and the black t shirt means he’s doing his “tough guy routine” ala Bobby Marscino. I bet we see some right hooks before this is all over. Victor doesn't work the hell out of that punching bag for nada.

Cane thinks Chloe might leave town with the baby and never come back? Is he delusional or what? He must be the only one who can’t see the huge “gold digging opportunist” sign on her forehead. No way is that chick leaving her mealticket behind.

The writers are doing an EXCELLENT job of turning Sharon into a Stepford Wife. "I support you no matter what." Give me a break with this mealy mouthed bullshit. What is wrong with her these days?

thoughts on today's show

I love how Nick is concerned about his dad and his half brother, and in the very same breath he starts talking about sex with Phyllis. What a leap. Next thing you see “worried” Adam is making out with Heather in the Newman living room. Sweet how everyone is off worrying themselves sick about Victor.

Lauren said to Michael, “Honey, you’re looking for your dad and Victor. You must be exhausted.” Geez, it’s not like he’s out there physically doing any LOOKING.

Chloe gets released from the hospital and the doctor tells her to rest with her feet up so she goes out to a nightclub to do that? She’s going to make a fine mother.

I hardly think Victoria and Nicholas see Adam as any sort of threat, as suggested by Heather. And how crass of her to say, “some day all of this will be yours” when Adam’s father is missing.

Watching that self-righteous Devon lecture Cane was a hoot.

Even in a foreign country Victor Newman manages to find some peon kid to do his work for him. Kid should have told him to get his own damn meds.

You know how I brought up all the awkward hugging that goes on in TV land amongst the guy friends? You know the “pat slap”? They also do the weird handshake thing. Not the normal handshake but more of a fist bump.

wow....summer camp really changes you....

Noah went to camp a few weeks ago
<--looking like this....

And he comes back
<--looking like this. Damn! What camp did he attend? Can't say I'm too upset they've aged this character.
Hunter Allan got on my nerves big time.

BTW, did you know that a boy and a GIRL set of twins, Samantha and Zachery Elkins were cast as the first Noah? And the second Noah was played by Lauren Summer Harvey, another female. Geez, was there a shortage of male babies in '97 or what?

UP and coming....

Word is that Karen is on her way out again. I don’t know why they brought her back, to be perfectly frank. But now that she’s here they need to play Tyra against her. I think that’s why Tyra is suddenly telling Neil that Devon and Ana are brother and sister. To stay close to him. Speaking of Karen, did you know that Nia Peeples real name is Virenia Gwendolyn Peeples? Yep, I’d change it too.

The new and improved (as well as older) Noah will reappear from “camp” on August 13th, as well as Traci Abbott.

Jana and Kevin will marry on August 15th.

According to the Feds, Nikki and Victor are still legally married.

Adam blabs the truth this week about David Chow and Brad to Nikki. She flies into a rage and confronts Brad and Jill.

Damn it, I was hoping Eric Braeden was on vacation. That was the only redeeming factor in the Sabrina death story as far as I was concerned: the fact that Victor would “disappear”. I had no ide he’d “disappear” and yet stay on our screen day after day. Sigh.

For those who are wondering, the name of the actor who played Sabrina's former lover Philippe, it's David May.

the latest issue has arrived!

I just LOVE this magazine!

Hmmmm, interesting

Tyra tells Neil that she is not Ana's mother, but Yolanda is.
I wonder if this is true or just her way of staying aboard Neil's gravy train?

Neil is named head of Newman Enterprises, and Adam/Vic Jr. is bumped off of his high horse.
BWAHAHAHA. Couldn't happen to a more arrogant jerk.

Adam tells Nikki that Brad knew about David's gambling.
Good. I'm glad the truth about Brad's manipulation is finally coming out. I can't wait for them to find Skye's cell phone and I know they will, right along with Brad's stupid message about how they scammed Chow.

restless (trashy)style

Sharon doesn't seem to have any qualms about going after the story of David Chow. She thought Jack was genius with his trashing of Sabrina.

I can't help but wonder how she'd feel if Jack did a big expose about Cassie's death?

I don't know why Jack doesn't stop pretending that RS is about fashion and just start a trash magazine like he wants to?

all in the family

Wasn't it just a few weeks back that Jill was accusing Nikki of nepotism? NOW she's offering the job of CEO to Cane. CANE who used to be in charge of construction of Clear Springs. BTW, anybody remember Clear Springs and how it would "change the face of Y&R forever?" It's never even mentioned anymore.

Anyway, Cane was in charge of construction, then was suddenly in charge of cosmetics deals, now he'll be in charge of the entire company? At least David and Vicki had business experience, which is more than Jill can claim for Cane.

The only thing I'm loving about this is the way Jill's putting the screws to Brad Carleton...LOL!!!

in light of all that's gone on recently

It's just plain stupid and downright irresponsible of Victor not to tell his kids where he's going OR that he's going away. And damn I hope Eric Braeden is on vacation and we don't have to sit through even MORE of a Victor Newman storyline.

But this is typical Victor behavior. It irks me no end when, for instance, he'll be talking to a family member like Victoria, and he receives word that Nikki has been in an accident. Instead of telling Victoria, he'll say, "Ummm, I have to leave right now. I'll talk to you later." That asinine habit IRKS ME NO END. Who does that stupidity?!

clue me in, will ya?

How does taking a spit test from Cane and a blood test from Chloe prove who the father of her baby is? Shouldn't they be testing the fluid the baby is in via amnio? Of course, Chloe's baby wouldn't even be IN an amniotic sac yet because it's supposedly only two - three weeks old and to do this test the baby needs to be 14 - 20 weeks old. They didn't perform a CVS either.

Remember when Brad tried to prove he was the father of Vikki's baby and they had to do an amnio to prove that? They said it was dangerous and she wanted to wait. They didn't do it via any spit test or blood work.

This isn't making any sense to me.

"clip on!" "clip off!"

Neil Winters has been a business executive for how many years now, and suddenly today, he doesn't know how to knot a tie?! What's he been wearing all these years? Clip on ties?

is it chilly in here or is it the winterzzz?

where's sherlock holmes when ya need him?

None of the Newman kids noticed the decided lack of a casket and a body at the church???

go, nikki! go,nikki!

Good for her for dumping Chow's ashes in a wheel barrow full of manure, a more than fitting resting place for that sack of crap.

who would you like to get the heave ho?

What characters would you like to see vanished from The Young and The Restless?

I'd like to see them dump Victor (permanently, don't keep toying with us with these long vacations of his), Tyra and her singing brat, Devon and Colleen.

One character that I wish they hadn't killed off was Skye. I loved her and I thought she added something to the show, which is more than I can say for anyone on the previous list.

They're bringing back Billy, so they dumped Chow. I noticed when a new character comes on, another one leaves. Sabrina left, and in turn, they signed Michael Gross of Family Ties fame to play Michael's dad. I love Michael Gross. While I thought he'd forever be typecast as Alex Keaton's dad, I've seen him play several different roles since then, including cold blooded killer, and he played them exceptionally well.

where's waldo? cuz who cares about victor...

I SINCERELY HOPE this "where's Victor" bullshit doesn't turn into another "when will Victoria wake up?!" dragged out story line.

How about this? He's out hunting down Walter, avenging his late wife's death? Knowing the grandiose ways his stories have been written lately, I wouldn't be surprised if TGVN brings down the entire mob....all while walking around with his hands in his pockets.

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

what have I done to deserve this?

the young and the idiotic

Did Sharon get kicked in the head by Mrs. O'Leary's cow or what? One day she's calling Jack a liar and telling him how she hates the way he deceives her NOW she's calling him a "warrior," telling him how much she loves him taking risks.

the pot calling the kettle black

Kevin referred to Chloe as "insane"??!! KEVIN????

And why is Michael now playing funeral director? Why isn't Victor planning his wife's service? What an arrogant ASS.

I predict...

that because Paul found Skye's body in the same place David boarded Nikki's horse, that Paul will conclude David was the murderer and that will make it gospel fact.

I just hope she has her cell with her so they can nail Brad's ass to the wall for creating a good bit of this mess and indirectly causing her death.

Sunday, August 3, 2008

doctor doctor gimme the news

Nick told Victoria that she needn't worry about calling her mother because Sabrina's mother probably already knew she was dead from the newscasts?

They would not have released news of her death before the family had time to be notified.

gawd, who didn't see this one coming?

Victoria, after Sabrina died: "I never got to apologize."

Not like ya didn't have the perfect opportunity.

jack has been reading too much of his own press

Sharon (about Sabrina): "If you knew what you knew now, would you have done anything differently?"

Jack: "No. That article put Sabrina on the map." What is she? A state? "It immortalized her." As a slut. "Anybody who didn't buy a copy of Restless Style is going to buy one now because they want to know more about the life of this beautiful woman whose life was cut too short." Geez, he's really noble to have printed that garbage about her, isn't he? You just KNOW he's going to print that photo that he supposedly bought to "protect" the family's privacy. What would HE know about that?!

Way to go, Phyllis, for letting Jack have it.

and the Eric Braeden ass kissing fest continues...

From Friday's show:

Lauren: "Well if anyone can help her recover from sheer force of will, it'll be Victor."

comments on upcoming spoilers

Michael ramps up his efforts to locate his father as the emotions following Sabrina's death catch up to him. His need to know all about his family becomes very intense! Paul is on the case, and actually locates the guy - but is it really Lowell?

I have to admit, I'm so tired of the Baldwins, I already dread this stupid storyline. The guy is in his early 40's, and he hasn't cared about his father a bit until this point in his life? Puhleeze.
What really amazes me is that the old man has been AWOL for decades, and Michael decides this week he wants to find him, and by Wednesday, that crackerjack, homeless PI Paul, has located the man. Double oy.

As Nikki struggles to avoid drinking in the aftermath of "Sudden Impact", Victor does a disappearing act - no surprise there!

"Sudden Impact"? They have a damn name for that storyline? Oy. "Disappearing act"? Yay! Vacation time for Eric Braeden. Let's hope it's a long one.

Does Karen need to be worried about Tyra moving into Neil's heart as well as his home. Could be - as Neil and Tyra seemingly bond!

Sadly, I don't care about any of these people either. The Winterzzz are about as boring a family as you can find.

Watch for Cane to receive a very unexpected and surprising promotion! I can't imagine Brad will be happy!

LOL! Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. Can't stand Brad Carleton.

Lily must make a life-altering decision after being faced with a proposition.

Yes, Lily, suicide IS the only answer to your problems!!!!

Mid-summer brings the surprising return of one of Genoa Cities younger residents - perhaps not so young anymore!

Hmm, wonder who this is? Phillip Jr? Jack's kid from Diane? Yet another Newman kid?

i think i'm moving but i go nowhere

Victor: “Sabrina’s friends are always welcome.” What friends?! She was so desperate for a Maid of Honor when Victoria refused that she had to ask her assistant.

Doctor: “She’s putting up quite a fight.”
Michael: “Thanks to you, Victor.”
Doctor: “She’s holding her own.”
Michael: “Without Victor’s intervention, do you think she would have even gotten this far?”
Oh, GAWD, the ass kissing in this show is unbelievable! Makes me think Eric B wrote this entire storyline.

Adam is walking around that hospital looking about as interested as a fat man in a health food store.

Katherine: “If I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away, I would.”
Wonder if this is the same magic wand that Bush would wave to lower the gas prices?

Nothing gets past Adrian. Amber answers the door with snot and mascara smeared all over her face and the first thing he says is, “You read the article right? Can you believe this crap?”
Speaking of snot, it’s a good thing Jana wiped hers off her nose before she kissed Sabrina’s head. I don’t think she would have appreciated the snot in her hair.

The DA told Heather she “did good”?! She has NO SOLID PROOF that David Chow killed JiMin, other than Daddy’s speculation. Why do they even need police and attorneys in Genoa City? Just let Paul Williams, crackerjack P.I, to solve the case. And the DA asking her back is almost as funny as her saying there might be a “whole string of unsolved murders” connected to Chow. How many people died in GC in the last few months?!

Great scene with Nikki, Nick and the horse.

Ok, Victoria, we get it

The Universe DOES revolve around you. Poor poor pitiful you for not being able to accept Victor's marriage to your friend. And we get it that now that she's dead, Sabrina has been elevated to sainthood.

What was the point of Victor Jr. even calling himself Adam Wilson when everyone knows he's Vic Jr anyway? And isn't he getting a swelled head lately?

FYI, Victor, Nikki did NOT bring David Chow into your life, YOU DID. He came to town to vindicate Carmen Mesta's death and YOU hired him to run Jack's political campaign. Choke on that, Mustache. I hate it when the writers are sloppy and don't bother to review the history of the character. They can split hairs and say Nikki brought David into the family, but he never would have been in their lives had Victor not hired him to begin with, so essentially he is the one that set their romance into motion.
